Fighting Adult Onset of (CVID), which means in medical term's Common Variable Immunodeficiency! By Heather Lynn Keesling

Hi everyone, this my first blog about my fight with adult onset (CVID) which mean in medical terms is adult onset Common Variable Immunodeficiency.  It has been a long road for me since Mid-July of 2013 and being deathly ill this summer and this fall. I have a great team of doctor’s behind me in my long road to recovery from this blood disease. First all, I want thank Dr. Matthew Williams and Dr. Mark Granada, my lung doctor’s, who were the  first doctor’s that test me for this blood disease and he is my hero for discovering what I have. I also, want thank Dr. Matthew Williams and Dr. Mark Granada again for being there through my good days and my bad days. I not so scared about my disease now. I have so much support from all my doctor’s that I can get through this without any complications from my CVID treatments.  2014 will a great year to start anew and positive and a fresh start for myself.  I do not knew how, I manage being ill this summer and taking college classes’ at Lord Fairfax Community College and managing my college classes online at Ashford University. I feel that I can be voice and an advocate for people that had this CVID or other immunodeficiency disease and make other people, who are not aware about this Immunodeficiency. I will not let this disease take over my life and take over my body. With CVID, I can live a normal healthy life like anyone one else who do not have this disease. I can take college classes from local college and from my online classes from Ashford University. I can hang out with my college friend’s and do normal college activities, like a normal college woman. I recognize now, that I still have a rough and bumping road ahead of me to get me back to where I was this summer before I got sick. I thank God every day for my health and that I am alive to see another day. I praised god every day that he sent two wonderful doctor’s to me, by the name of Dr. Matthew D. William’s and Dr. Mark J. Granada. I feel both of them are my guardian angels, looking out what is best for my health and for my body to recover from this blood disease. I also want to thank Dr. Claus Helbing and Dr. Doki and Dr. Alok Kumar and my therapist grace and my Case Manager at mental health clinic in Warrenton, Virginia and Mr. Bell, my APS worker, for being there with me 100% and Alisha, my case manager that had be there for me, when I have my good days’ and bad day,
Before I sign off, I want to wish a very merry and a very happy new year.

P.S. If you ever get down or have a bad day of being sick all the time with this Chronic Disease, you look through your bible and read the verse: I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me. The chapter and on this verse on Philippians chapter 4:13th.
